ACC General Assembly Ratifies 2026–2030 Strategic Roadmap and Digital Governance Framework
Delegates representing 54 national chess federations gathered for the 2026 ACC Ordinary General Assembly, unanimously voting to adopt the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan titled "One Continent, 64 Squares: Transforming African Chess."
The comprehensive four-year roadmap focuses on three institutional pillars: administrative modernization through centralized digital federation registries, expanding annual continental prize funds to $500,000, and establishing permanent FIDE trainer academies in all five geographic zones.
A key legislative breakthrough was the passage of the 2026 Continental Bidding Code, standardizing transparency in host city selection, hotel accommodation standards, and international arbiter stipends.
President Benard Wanjala praised the unity of the assembly: "Our strength lies in our collective commitment to good governance, fiscal integrity, and creating world-class competitive environments for African youth."
